History

Alpha, Ohio is a small village nestled in between the cities of Beavercreek and Xenia. As the name implies, Alpha was the first settlement in what is now Beavercreek Township. Falling along waterways, roads, and rail lines, Alpha began as a convenient location for a grain mill. Other businesses soon followed creating an economic hub in the region during the nineteenth century.

Current day Alpha still holds many of its old charms. There are 54 households within its boundaries, and Alpha has its own post office which is frequented by many residents of Greene County. The scenic Creekside Trail bike path runs right through town on an old railroad line. Now housing a museum of the town’s history, the original Alpha Mill stands along the path.

Alpha Community Church is seated in the center of the community surrounded by the rich history of the area, and all are welcome within its doors.
